DailyRoads Voyager

Recording road videos since 2009, DailyRoads Voyager works as a car blackbox, dash cam or auto DVR, continuously capturing videos and photos during your journeys. The app automatically records everything, but only important events are retained for future reference or as evidence. You get to choose what to keep, simply by touching the screen, even while you drive.

The video evidence can be invaluable in case of accidents, insurance fraud, police abuse, protection from crash-for-cash scams and differences of opinion with other drivers.

Key features:
- Continuous video recording, with user-defined length and video quality; sound can be included
- User-defined storage space on the SD card with cyclic recording; i.e. the card never fills up
- One-touch video retention allows you to keep video files for interesting road events during the whole journey
- Auto retain video upon sudden shock (e.g. accident); configurable g-force sensitivity
- Automatically capture photos at user-defined intervals and resolutions; great for time-lapse photography
- Background video/photo capture, with optional buttons over other applications
- Auto start and shutdown based on car dock detection and related options
- Videos/photos are timestamped & geotagged
- Automatically determine street address of retained videos/photos
- Display videos/photos location on a map
- Display speed, elevation, timestamp and GPS coordinates on videos/photos
- Option to change speed units (km/h, mph) and date format
- Overheating protection
- GPS can be disabled to reduce power consumption
- Brightness adjustment option allows less distraction when driving at night
- Built-in file manager, video/photo browser
- Add title/description/bookmark to files
- Upload files to DailyRoads.com
- App2SD

This is a free application with some ads, but they are disabled after any donation or purchase within the app. Thanks again for all the donations!

Enjoy, and have a safe journey!

Works very well although having a problem where GPS stops updating coordinates and speed a few minutes into every journey, sometimes after pressing screen to retain video. GPS only recovers once app is restarted. Have seen same issue on 2 motorola moto e phones. Any workarounds would be very useful. UPDATE: Have tried the old GPS method as suggested and in my case this works perfectly. Thank you.

Frequent app crashes and increase in device crashes since installation. Only works in landscape mode which makes the Nexus 7 screen unreadable when wearing polarized sunglasses. Also causes the device camera to fail for ALL apps that use camera. Thoughtful features and design, but worthless in a nonfunctional and destructive app UPDATED: Been using for a month. Changing the app's camera settings fixed the camera issue, but app still crashes the device. At least once or twice on every 40 mile commute, the screen will freeze for a couple of minutes, (usually running Waze GPS) and touch controls and buttons are non-responsive until the device reboots. The features are nice and worth a couple of stars, but reliability and stability are awful. Driving apps should be set-it-and-forget-it, not freeze-and-fail.

As a result, I nearly had a claim made against me following an accident. To prevent future issues of this nature I have decided to delete this app and use a standalone dashcam.

Use it all the time. As someone who works in emergency services I realize how helpful this video will be if I am ever involved in an automobile incident, or witness to a crime or other significant incident. This is the best dash cam app out there for Android!

Hi, does it work with Tasker? And what ia the feature with Tasker? By the way I donated last year but why I still have to pay again? Shouldn't i get the full version?

I like the idea of this app, but the fact you have to pay for the most important feature makes it pointless for me as a "free" app. On a Galaxy s6 the option to mute capture sounds doesn't work. Thus you get a beepity-boop every 1-3 minutes while driving as it saves video files. However, the devs say this is a problem more with Android than with the app. I'd also like to be able to see my location and speed on the finished file but can't without paying DailyRoads to do it on their server. Again they say this is a problem with Android. So is it really a free app if you have to pay to get the main feature that would make it any different than a plain old camera app? If you don't pay for it, this is basically a camera app that auto saves when it detects a shock. I feel this wasn't made clear when I downloaded it. I will be deleting this app.
